Making a Claim
If the universe has brought you to this page, then you are likely not a happy camper. Making an insurance claim is the least fun part of having insurance.
Rest easy knowing we are here for you every step of the way.
Let’s make this as easy as possible!
Step 1: Secure the area!! Before you go any further - stop whatever is causing the damage. Turn off the water, board over the window, etc. Do what you need to do to make sure there is no further damage. Keep your receipts for anything you have to buy to secure the area, this could be included in your claim.
Step 2: Document, document, document. Know what happened, and what time it happened, all involved parties and TAKE PICTURES. The more the better. Just in case.
Step 3: Report your claim. Find your insurance company below and report it online or on the phone. Or pick your Bora Insurance branch and call to report it to your broker directly during business hours.
Step 4: Wait for the call. A representative from your insurance company should reach out to you within 24 hours to go over the details. Then you communicate with the adjuster on the next steps. Remember, your BROKER IS HERE TO HELP with ALL questions and concerns you have during the process. We have the direct relationship with the insurance company, and will use it to YOUR advantage.
Your broker is a valuable resource. They will provide you with claims counselling on topics such as: when is it worth making a claim, how much a claim will cost you, and more.
